Pū: Hawaiian Conch Shell
$535
The pū, pronounced 'poo,' is the Hawaiian term for the conch shell, a revered cultural symbol. Its resonant sound, emerging from the ocean, flows across the 'āina (land), reflecting a deep spiritual connection. Traditionally blown at ceremonies, it calls to the divine and was historically used to communicate, allowing canoes to seek permission to approach the shore.
This new series of drawings intertwines the islands' rich history with contemporary stories, celebrating their vibrant legacy. Additional artworks will be added soon, and prints are available for purchase.
